Our First Friesian Horse!

In 1987 we owned an assortment of horses of various breeds that we used for trail riding and breeding. And then we saw our first Friesian! It was in a horse magazine and it was just a small photo of a Friesian stallion. But it attracted our attention as only a Friesian can. The short accompanying article mentioned the movie Ladyhawke...and so we were bitten by the Friesian bug.

Friesian Horses, Now Our Focus

Since 1987 we’ve focused on Friesian horses and much of our time and energy has been dedicated to the breed in one way or another. We don’t just breed Friesians, but also use them for a wide range of activities including:

Ø  Trail riding
Ø  Pleasure driving in the show ring
Ø  Ridden dressage
Ø  Driving in the surrounding National Forest
Ø  Breed exhibitions
Ø  And we even had one gelding trained in western reining

Friesians can excel in driving or dressage competition, but they can also be the best equine friend and the most stunning pasture ornament that can be found.
